Ruby Star is a Private Investigator specialising in missing persons.

When a woman with amnesia turns up at her office, Ruby has to find her identity and discovers the woman’s murdered husband.

The chain of events that follows leads Ruby through a series of complications and solutions.

DI John Ryker of the C.I.D. and his police partner, DS Jayne Boscombe, helps Ruby progress the case.

Ryker and Boscombe have to observe the rules, but Ruby doesn't and solves cases with guile and instinct.
